One of my absolute favorite annual events is this coming Saturday, and I couldn’t be more excited. Not only is my usual JSW partner-in-crime Andria participating in AIDS Walk Charlotte 2017 as part of the Red Pump Charlotte team, but my love Chuck is making his debut as well. He even purchased red sneaks to show solidarity with us. Two miles to raise funds and awareness for the amazing work that Regional AIDS Interfaith Network does in the Charlotte community every single day. I walk for those women who don’t always have a voice. I walk for those women who shouldn’t have to deal with stigma. I walk for those women and girls who have died and need to be remembered. I walk because I care about my community, and more importantly, the health of my community.
